Strengths: 4 gigs of ram, 500 gig hard drive, vista 64 bit, large monitor for a low cost. This does what I need it to (word processing, excel, email, internet, music and occasional video. HDMI link is a plus. Touchpad operates better than most I’ve used.

Weaknesses: I’m being very picky here, because I would have wanted to know this stuff prior to buying this computer. The speakers are not designed for music. The keyboard takes some time to get used to. You’ll need to be a bit more forceful in your typing but you can adjust. The hot buttons on the sides of the keyboard are inconvenient because you’ll touch them without realizing it and something will open up. The headphone and microphone jacks are in the front which is inconvenient when the laptop is on your lap. But it does have two headphone connections which is cool when I’m listening to music with my girlfriend.

Beautiful computer. The only complaint is the keyboard – you really have to push on some keys. I always have to check what I have typed as it is usually missing a few letters. Hope it will loosen up soon! Otherwise, no complaints.

I’ve had this laptop now for a few weeks and I love it. I use it for “pleasure only”, no home business, etc.

It seems to run as fast and as good as my desktop computer. The keyboard keys are a little stiff but as the prevous reviewer stated, it does take some getting used to but it can be conquered! I especially like the backlit keyboard because I like to sit in a low light room in the evenings and surf the web, etc.

I, myself, do not have a problem with accidentally touching the multi-media keys which are located on the sides of the keyboard — I think they are in a convenient location.

Before purchasing, I would have liked to know that the exterior of the laptop is a shiny finish and displays fingerprints prominently — not a problem to keep it fingerprint free by wiping it off with a damp or dry cloth. Dust also shows up on the surface but fingerprints and dust are minor irritations for the product you are getting.

The screen images are clear and crisp; the screen size is nice and large; connected up to my router with no problem; speakers are a little tinny if the volume is quite high but I keep mine pretty low so the sound is fine for me; a little heavy to be toting on trips (unless you own a wheeled travel tote) but I don’t travel much so again, not a problem; has enough room on the hard drive for my purposes; leather palm rest on keyboard is very nice — no fingerprints, no dust (same for touchpad); black keyboard with orange back light looks smart!

All in all, it’s a keeper!

GREAT VALUE, WORKS PERFECT, NICE SETTINGS. Trial SW like Antivirus and Office, should come permanent, and not at additional cost after. Otherwise, great deal.

This is a decent computer, but did not work for me. It’s very heavy — almost 8 pounds – due to glass surface over screen display and bulk. You’re not going to want to carry this around. I liked the idea of backlit display, but the orange LED is garish and a bit too bright. I was unable to get the HDMI output to work with my digital TV. The biggest problem was the keyboard. The unit is hard to type on; the keys are stiff and often did not register without pressing down firmly. I ended up returning this to the vendor (J&R Computers) and they did provide a full refund. I’d buy from J&R again but not this machine.

Backlit keyboard is this laptop’s best feature and makes using it far more versatile. Unfortunately, the keyboard itself is not as effective for everyDAY use. The center area of the keyboard is not as well supported so you have to punch the central area keys a lot harder to get the keys to register on the display. Huge HDD (500GB) and 4gigs of memory, along with Centrino equipped 2.0GHz CPU, make this 64bit Vista PC perform really well. The WEI is only 3.7 because the integrated graphics support is not as good as most Desktops with a dedicated plug-in video card. That is made up for the true 16×9 widescreen 16″ diagonal display. Also built-in is a 1.3MP webcam, microphone and two speakers. HDMI output connector is a nice bonus. Only thing missing is Bluetooth support and a BluRay DVD player. Internet WiFi access is very fast and reliable. All in all a very good value and feature rich Notebook PC for the price.

This is a very impressive looking laptop. It’s fast, with lots of hard drive space and ram and more than adequate for the average user. It has a built in wireless card and camera, you couldn’t ask for more. The lighted keyboard makes it easy to type at night and the screen resolution is awesome! I highly recommend anyone to buy this inexpensive but classy computer.
