I spent several months reading reviews and checking out prices from all sources. I wanted to get the most for my money. When I got ready to buy I went to the big box stores however they never seem to have the model I wanted when I wanted it. I checked with Amazon to see what they had. The computer model I wanted was in stock with more features than expected with a great price. The HP HDX16 is a really great laptop. I use mine for gaming and music playing. Really good multi-media programs. Very good overall. Five stars to Amazon and HP.

Real good machine. Good batery performance. Only problem is the DVD RW DL drive, that is noisy and takes long to read some discs (failing in some cases). After experiencing the problem, heard about this problem in specific internet forums…. I whish I could have known that before buying…

I bought my HP Pavilion HDX16 6 weeks ago approximately and I was waiting to see its performance so I could write a real testimony. I got to say.. I LOVE IT! I am running Vista Ultimate 32 bits and it works super fast.. so far I have zero complains and I am super proud of my incredible laptop in every sense. Screen size is incredible, sound, video, hardware, everything works as a charm…

The HP is a monster. At 18.5″ what does one expect. My 70 year old eyes don’t see so well any more and I have no need to drag this thing on airplanes.The screen display on DVD or fish screen saver is great.I want to reach in, pull out a fish and throw it in a pan.

I have personally built 25 desktop computers for my self and friends, but this is my first laptop.You can’t build these at home. you know.

I like the machine, but I don’t like VISTA, and the 64 bit operating system has rendered some of my system related programs, like Partition Magic useless.

I don’t like the outside appearance,would have liked a color choice, but I am a FUNCTION guy. YES,I would buy again but wish it was in purple!!!!!!

I don’t deal with Amazon much, however service was great. In addition, free shipping, no tax, WHAT A COUNTRY!!!!

I was really surprised to see in 2009 laptop’s price above $1000 (except for apple of course).

However, this laptop can be used both as desktop and laptop, though it’s quite bulky for carrying it everywhere. Quick, powerful and really nice looking. I would say it’s a poor man Mac Pro.

Found it through lsdeal.com and amazon had the best price for this item.

This is a great laptop, but unfortunately Vista is a real bad Operating System. I have several conflicts trying to run my old software in Vista, so you must upgrade all your programs to work or try to work in Vista.

I bought this laptop to replace a desktop. It is a power laptop, but it is also heavy and consume energy so your battery will last for less than 2 hours, but it works fine for me because I was replacing a desktop.

Again, it is a Good laptop, but WAIT for a new Operating system that will be released in October or November this year. If you buy your laptop now, no one will support your migration to the new operating system.
